Why and how did Eisenhower use the CIA and convert operations in the 1950s?
notka56 [123]

Answer:

President Dwight Eisenhower supported CIA covert operations and highly regarded the value of intelligence information. In his years, major technological developments such as the U-2 spy aircraft and CORONA satellites, both developed during the Eisenhower administration, allowed the CIA get much new information that was impossible to gather before. His government also supported covert operations to overthrow governments that the administration didn´t like or suspected to be communist. This is the case of the CIA-orchestrated coup against the nationalist government of Jacobo Arbenz in Guatemala in 1954, who had become a target because of his treatment of abusive US corporations that exploited Guatemalan peasants.

In the Eisenhower years, there were also secret CIA operations in Indonesia to prevent a Communist takeover and in Iran, where the CIA organized a coup against the local ruler.

How did the four factors of production determine which nations were able to industrialize after Britain?
Slav-nsk [51]
In order to determine the answer for this, we much look at the 4 factors of production: land, labor, capital, and entrepreneurship. When it comes to industrialization, those nations that had these four capitals could easily follow suit. These were mostly those countries that were following the capitalist path. Taking America for example, the North was heavily industrialized due to it having plenty land for industries, labor readily available, capital in terms of investments, and people willing to start industries and businesses. Being a capitalist country, the government encouraged new businesses.

Many of the cave paintings at Lascaux show the animals with heads in profile, but with horns facing forward. This is an example
Elanso [62]

Answer:

The convention of representation depicted in the Lascaux cave paintings where the heads of the animals are in profile but their horns are facing forward is called the twisted perspective.

Explanation:

The Lascaux cave paintings (c. 17,000 BCE) are remarkable because the animals are depicted with a lot of vitality and detail for the time period. The Timeline of Art History on the MET's website describes cave paintings and engraving appearing on the ceilings or walls of caves as “parietal” art. It is likely the caves were more for ceremonial purposes than for providing a group or community shelter. At Lascaux, the artists used outlines for precision and detailed them with soft colorings that they likely blew onto the depictions using a straw-like tool. The animals at Lascaux are typically painted with a slight twisted perspective. This gives the drawing more visual power and sense of the animal in movement because their horns or antlers are painted from the front, but their heads are in profile. Scholars who have analyzed the paintings have found that this twisted perspective is also used in artwork originating from Mesopotamia and Egypt.
