When you calculate area, you are multiplying the length and the width by each other, while also multiplying the unit by itself during the operation. This causes the unit to become squared in the value for the area.

The perimeter of a rectangle is 34 units. Its width is 6.56, point, 5 units.
kifflom [539]

Answer: equation for length 34- (6.5 times 2)  that whole thing divided by 2

Step-by-step explanation:

You know the width and a rectangle has 2 PAIRS of equal sides so if you know the width you just have to multiply that  by 2  [ to account 4 the other side with the same length] and subtract that from the perimeter! Then you divide that answer by 2 to get what one side's length is!

hope that helped if it was not helpful sorry because i am a first grader :/

a water sprinkler sends water out in in a circle .how large is the watered area if the the watering Patten is 23 ft
Dennis_Churaev [7]
I'm guessing you're saying that the sprinkler is shooting out 23 ft of water.

This would be the same as the radius of a circle, and we're trying to find the area. Use the formula.

\sf A=\pi r^2

Plug in what we know:

\sf A=\pi (23^2)

\sf A=529\pi ft^2

This is what they could be looking for, an exact value. If they want an approximation, we can input 3.14 for Pi:

\sf A\approx 529(3.14)

\boxed{\sf A\approx 1661.06~ft^2}
