After reading the excerpt represented above, I would say that the most appropriate word that coincides with tone of the text is <span>Demands. At first : there is a business term called false demands, which is commonly used in economics/international relationships. And if in actually brings the negative meaning it couldn't be Refusals, (obviously -statements also can't be used and the same with argument as it should be in another context).

Isaac Bashevis Singer, a Polish-American novelist, published a collection of short tales titled Zlateh the Goat and Other Stories in 1966. Singer and Elizabeth Shub translated the stories from Yiddish, which was Singer's preferred writing language.

The other two points of view in literature are first person and second person. In third-person point of view, the author is narrating a tale about the characters, referring to them by name or using the third-person pronouns "he," "she," and "them.
