Primarily, lipids are used to provide fuel for body and muscle processes. They produce and store energy to support the various processes that incur within the body.

Lipids are fat formed in layers. They are found under the skin and surrounds our vital organs. They serve as insulation and protection.

They insulate and protect our body by maintaining a regular internal body temperature despite the changes in external temperature. They also coat our vital organs to protect them from bruises and bumps which can ultimately hurt our organs.

Lipids also aid in digestion and nutriet abosorption, as well as, in the production of cell wall structure and hormones.
