we know that

the original price is \$85.79

The original price represent the  100\%

so

1) First discount of 10\%

Find the new price 1

\$85.79*(1-0.10)=\$77.21

2) Second successive  discount of 5\%

Find the new price 2

\$77.21*(1-0.05)=\$73.35

3)   Find by proportion the total percentage of discount

\frac{100}{85.79} \frac{\%}{\$} =\frac{x}{73.35} \frac{\%}{\$} \\ \\x=100*73.35/85.79 \\ \\x=85.5 \%

therefore

<u>the answer is the option D</u>

85.5 \%

What is the value of 5^3¡^9
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

125i

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to find

5^3i^9

This can be rewritten as;

5^3i^8\times i

5^3(i^2)^4\times i

Recall that; i^2=-1

5^3(-1)^4\times i

We evaluate now to obtain;

125(1)\times i=125i

In the year 2003, a company made $6.8 million in profit. For each consecutive year after that, their profit increased by 13%. Ho
LenKa [72]

Answer:

$7.7 million

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: $6.8 million profit made by company.

13% increase in profit every year.

Now, finding the company´s profit in the year of 2006.

As we know there is 13% increase in profit.

∴ Profit increase= \frac{13}{100} \times 6.8= \$ 0.884

Next adding company´s profit with increase in profit to get profit in the year 2006.

∴ 6.8+0.884= \$ 7.684 ≅ $7.7

The company´s profit in the year 2006 is $7.7 million.
