Ovulation is a process which takes place in female mammals. In this process the female gametes becomes matured for the process of fertilization. In this process the mature egg is released by the ovaries and pushed down to the fallopian tubes. This makes the eggs available for the purpose of fertilization. Every month an egg get matured and drop down to the fallopian tubes. It takes around 3-4 days to release an egg and the egg covers a distance of about 5 inches in the fallopian tube.
