It was on 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded and the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 that restored the lawful rights of the PRC last 1971. China appealed to the UN to have Macau and be removed from the colonies. The  Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration<span> last 1987 , formally made the return of Macau to China.</span>
