  • It made her question Pashtun custom, that believed every mistake should be corrected with a punishment as a good deed is reciprocated with a good one. She learned to forgive others.

She spends her life by taking care of the narrator during his youth and even though he grows and keeps his distance, she remains loving and letting him pursue his interests.

The narrator has a great feeling of respect for his grandmother and though she is not physically beautiful, he describes her inner beauty by comparing her to the purity of nature. The narrator also remarks that she was a lady to the last.

When Jack is on the trail, he sees some pig poop. The narrator says that Jack "bent down to [it] as though he loved [it]" (111).
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer and Explanation:

1. I agree that this is disgusting, but it is an important element for large hunters, as feces can indicate whether the animal is far or close, making it easier for an experienced hunter, like Jack, to find his prey more easily.

2. Pig poop, hunting and fascination can be symbolic and represent an obsession with something. This obsession is capable of provoking strange and not at all admirable behaviors like Jack's behavior of appreciating pig feces as if he loves them.
