Lest assume Length=y and width=x
y= 3x+2

p=2(x+y)
100=2(x+3x+2)
100/2=4x-2
50+2=4x
52/4=x
x=13

the width is 13 m

There are 32 students in Mrs. Worrell's Classroom. There 12 boys and 20 girls. She needs to select two students to represent her
liraira [26]

Answer:

15/64 = 23.4 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's consider the first two selections. Let's call B the case in which she extracts a boy and G the case in whish she extracts a girl.

For each selection, the probabilty of event B (selecting a boy) is

P(B)=\frac{12}{32}=\frac{3}{8}

While the probability of event G (selecting a girl) is

P(G)=\frac{20}{32}=\frac{5}{8}

We are asked to find the probability that the first two events are B and then G:

P(B,G)

In the first two selections, we have 4 possible combinations:

BB, BG, GB, GG

The probability for each combination is given by:

P(BB)=P(B)\cdot P(B) = \frac{3}{8}\cdot \frac{3}{8}=\frac{9}{64}=14.1 \%

P(BG)=P(B)\cdot P(G) = \frac{3}{8}\cdot \frac{5}{8}=\frac{15}{64}=23.4 \%

P(GB)=P(G)\cdot P(B) = \frac{5}{8}\cdot \frac{3}{8}=\frac{15}{64}=23.4 \%

P(GG)=P(G)\cdot P(G) = \frac{5}{8}\cdot \frac{5}{8}=\frac{25}{64}=39.1 \%

The second one is the probability we are searching for, so the probability that she will select a boy first and then a girl is 15/64, or 23.4%.

The average age of Iowa residents is 37 years. Amy believes that the average age in her hometown in Iowa is not equal to this av
alekssr [168]

Answer:

The p-value of the test is 0.2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the alternative hypothesis that µ ≠ 531, Amy found a t-test statistic of 1.311.

Alternative hypothesis means that e have a two-tailed hypothesis test.

Sample 30 citizens. Amy found a t-test statistic of 1.311.What is the p-value of the test statistic?

Thus, we have a two-tailed test with 30 - 1 = 29 degrees of freedom and t = 1.311. So, using a t-distribution calculator, the p-value of the test is 0.2.

Drag the point around to graph more horizontal lines. What is the general equation of a horizontalline?
svetlana [45]

A horizontal line is one for which the value of y is the same for the entire length of the line. Therefore this type of line can be expressed as below:

y=c

Where "c" is a constant that changes the position of the line on the coordinate plane. If c is equal to 2, then we have a constant line that crosses the y-axis at the position 2 for example.
