1. Freedom. Taking away a persons right to bear arms is taking away part of a persons freedom.

2. Protection. Since when do criminals keep the law? They will find ways to get guns, and when they do, we will be unable to protect ourselves.

I think what we should do, is before a person buys a gun, we should make a complete background check, but I don't think we should EVER have our freedom taken away.

How did the ideas of the enlightenment influence the development of the American nation?
Ratling [72]
The enlightenment ideas were mostly about education and democratic ideologies. Philosophers like Locke and Hobbes and Rousseau influenced the founding fathers to create a democratic state where the sovereignty lied with people. Education was also important which is why the US have always had a tradition of having colleges and universities that are even older than the United States themselves.

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

  • His reference to every citizen’s rights

<em><u>Explanation:</u></em>

This excerpt flags the American's moral duties or established ideal to pick the administration that controls their country, to transform it or to oust it if fundamental. American's opportunity and ideal to choose who is in power is the trademark soul of their way of life and society, this is the reason Lincoln's reference to these rights is the detail flagging his intrigue to ethos.
