Compare and contrast what is a direct democracy versus representative democracy. Which one do you think is the most effective an
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

Representative Democracy

Explanation:

In a direct democracy, every country's citizens get to decide on issues such as laws and when to go to war. This may sound like a good idea, and it is for smaller communities. However, take this idea and put it on a country. Most countries would work, since most have more than 1 million people. It would take forever to decide on an issue. In a representative democracy, citizens elect representatives, and the process of deciding on issues would be much faster.

What part of the Constitution would I want to remove? The Second Amendment. The Second Amendment allows the right to bear arms. I don't want to remove this, mainly because it takes the right to defend yourself if your a law abiding citizen. I simply want to put limitations on it. Specifically to band all guns besides hand guns, and ban high-capacity magazines. That way you would be better able to control and fight against someone who has a gun, and the death toll could be decreased. You really only need a pistol to defend yourself anyway.
