What is N in -2n+2(3n+14)=-20

Mathematics

Answer:

To solve for n you need to get it by itself

First you want to distribute your 2 through the (3n+14)

-2n+6n+28=-20 (2*3n+2*14= 6n+28)

Now you want to combine any like terms if possible

4n+28=-20 (-2n+6n=4n, both like terms)

Then you want to subtract -28 from both sides

4n=-48 (28-28=0, -20-28=-48)

Lastly you want to divide both sides by 4

n=-12 (4n/4=n, -48/4= -12)

Travis is deciding how to study math tonight he is choosing between studying ofG patterns P or equations E he also is deciding w
expeople1 [14]

Answer:

GT, GV, PT, PV, ET, and EV.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

The number of topics Travis has to chose from are 3 topics(G, P, E).

The number of ways Travis can study each topic are 2 ways(T, V).

Essentially, the number of combinations Travis is expected to be able to chose from is given as

The number of combinations = The number of topics * The number of ways

The number of combinations = 3 * 2

The number of combinations = 6

Therefore, the total possible combinations has to be

GT, GV, PT, PV, ET, and EV

Explain which situation will give you the best price: a discount of 15% and then 10% off that amount, a discount of 10% and then
Katarina [22]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X be the initial price and P be the final price.

#Given a discount of 15% then 10% of that amount:

P_1=(1-o)[X(1-d)}\\\\=(1-0.15)[X(1-0.10)]\\\\=0.765X

Hence, the finial price is 76.5% of the initial price.

#Given a discount of 10% then 15% of that amount:

P_1=(1-o)[X(1-d)}\\\\=(1-0.15)[X(1-0.1)]\\\\=0.765X

Hence, the finial price is 76.5% of the initial price.

#Given a discount of 25%

P_1=(1-d)X\\\\=(1-0.25)X\\\\=0.75X

Hence, the finial price is 75.0% of the initial price. It therefore give's the best price due to it's 25% price reduction.

400 ml of squash is made by mixing 50 ml of cordial with water. What fraction of the drink is water?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

Fraction of drink that is water = = 0.875 = 87.5 %

Explanation:

 400 ml of squash is made by mixing 50 ml of cordial with water.

 Total volume of squash = 400 ml

   Total volume of cordial = 50 ml

   Total volume of water  =  400 - 50 = 350 ml

    Fraction of drink that is water = Volume of water/ Volume of squash

                                                     = 350/400

                                                     = 7/8

                                                     = 0.875 = 87.5 %
