There are water-tight junctions between cells in the stomach, so that no HCl can leak out of the stomach into the abdomen, which are tight junctions.

Option E

Explanation:

The tight junctions are the water tight sealing boundaries through which the content of the stomach do not cross the epithelial lining of the stomach and neither do the outer fluid crosses the epithelial lining inside of it.

The tight junction is established via claudins, which are protein molecules by constituents. They are present in the cell and they pair up with the claudin molecule present on the adjoining or opposite claudin of the other cell, forming branch like tight network.

Match each step of the scientific method with the order it usually occurs in. 1. 1st Step data collection 2. 2nd Step communicat
AysviL [449]

Answer:

1st Step: Observation

2nd Step: Questioning

3rd Step: Data Collection

4th Step: Data analysis

5th Step: Communication

In the scientific method, the first step is always to make an observation. You can observe anything in your environment, or a phenomena, or behavior.

The next step would be to question. You form a question to find a possible explanation as to why what you had observed occurred. This is also when you make a hypothesis. An educated guess or a proposal that could explain the event.

After you make a hypothesis, you start an experiment where you will collect data. The data you collect would then be analyzed (4th step). From there you build your conclusion to determine whether your hypothesis holds true.

The last step would be communication. You will communicate the results of your method. This allows people to review your data and process, which may be supported or invalidated. Communication is critical in the scientific world because your results could be the basis for further investigation.

During breathing, what happens when there is a decrease of pressure in the thoracic cavity?
Vaselesa [24]
This decrease of pressure in the thoracic cavity relative to the environment makes the cavity pressure less than the atmospheric pressure. This pressure gradient between the atmosphere and the thoracic cavity allows air to rush into the lungs; inhalation occurs. The resulting increase in volume is largely attributed to an increase in alveolar space because the bronchioles and bronchi are stiff structures that do not change in size.
