What President Roosevelt did which has never been done before in conservation was that the president made conservation a major part of his administration. He was a dynamic force in the new movement which was known as conservationism. The president saw the need to preserve natural resources and he put in place appropriate mechanisms to do this. At the end of his tenure, he had already built five national parks, four game refugees, fifty one national bird reservations and national forest service.

President Roosevelt introduced ‘Conservationism’ and made it an integral part of the legislation.

Further Explanation-

The conservation policy of Theodore Roosevelt is reflected in his legacy of 230 million acres of public lands that he conserved during his presidency. He also set aside the forests and set them up as national forests. He also urged the department of agriculture to introduce sustainable, friendly agricultural practices that would preserve the quality of topsoil and prohibited clearing of forests. He also raised awareness among the common people about the importance of environmental resources and the need to maintain environmental sustainability, so that natural resources could be available for future generations to use. He was the first president to create a Federal Bird Reserve, and wildlife sanctuaries, which are now under the protection of the United States Fish and Wildlife services. These national parks and bird reserves would help to maintain these species and protect them from overhunting or commercial exploitation. Breeding projects were also carried out between the conserved species so as to maintain their balance within the ecosystem. Roosevelt also signed the Act for the preservation of American antiquities, by which he declared that all monuments of historic, prehistoric and scientific importance would be protected and claimed as ‘National monuments.

He wanted to preserve the natural resources of the United States and was deeply concerned about the depleting environmental conditions. He made Conservationism a matter of top priority in governmental issues. Incessant hunting of animal species such as bison, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and other game species upset the ecological balance. He wanted to raise awareness among the public about the exhaustibility of natural resources and used his authority to protect wildlife and public forests by establishing the United States Forest Services and establishing national forests, game reserves, national parks, and bird sanctuaries.

Describe the similarities and differences in foreign policy during the Eisenhower and Kennedy Administrations.
Paha777 [63]

Differences .

Dwight D. Eisenhower tenure was from 1956 to 1961. John F. Kennedy tenure was from 1961 to 1963.

With Eisenhower, the Foreign Policy was that United States forces help the Middle East to combat the spread of Communism. In this region, Eisenhower had some political differences with England and France. The reason: the Suez crisis of 1956 due to President of Egypt -Gamal Abdel Nasser- wishes to be more independent.

In 1955, USSR President Nikita Khrushchev called his Foreign policy "peaceful coexistence", but Eisenhower did not believed in this. He was skeptic of the Soviet’s intentions.

Eisenhower accepted to participate in a meeting with Russian leaders in Geneva, Switzerland, in July 1955. That meeting was called the "Spirit of Geneva".

Kennedy considered that Eisenhower had lost emerging states in Latin America, Asia, and Africa to the communists

Kennedy fought against Communism in South and Central America using propaganda.

Kenndy supported and funded NASA’s space programs.

Kennedy had to confronted and resolve the Misil’s crisis in Cuba.

Similarities.

Both presidents fought against Communism, in his own way. They reaffirmed the U.S. Foreign policy against Russia and defended its positions in the world.

Both presidents were reluctant to send troops to enforce civil rights

They were concerned about the problems with the application of federalism, but at th end they did to enforce civil rights.
