Hey there!!

Hmmm you seem familiar :D

Okay let's get started!!!!  Okay so remember that if two lines are parallel then the slopes must be exactly the same (ex: -4 and -4)  if two lines are perpendicular then the slopes are negative reciprocals (ex: -4 and 1/4)

y = -3x + 7                             -2x + 6y = 3
                                               y = (x/3) + 1/2

So these two are perpendicular since the slopes negative reciprocals

y = (x/5) + 6                           -2x + 10y = 5
                                                y = (x/5) + 1/2

So these lines are parallel since the slopes are exactly equal

I hope this helps!

Prove that: cos^2 (45+A)+cos^2 (45-A)=1
Nata [24]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the cosine addition formula

cos(A ± B ) = cosAcosB ∓ sinAsinB

Then considering the left side

cos²(45 + A) + cos²(45 - A)

= [ cos45cosA - sin45sinA ]² + [cos45cosA + sin45sinA]]²

= [ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } cosA - \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } sinA ]² + [ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } cosA + \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } sinA ]²

= \frac{1}{2}cos²A - sinAcosA + \frac{1}{2} sin²A + \frac{1}{2} cos²A + sinAcosA + \frac{1}{2} sin²A

= cos²A + sin²A

= 1

= right side , then proven
