The Colombian Exchange brought two new worlds together. Mixing of many things, including animals, plants and bacteria, happened because of this. During this time a disease called smallpox came abrupt. Some of the voyagers on way to New World were infected with this disease. Because they had smallpox they were able to carry it over seas and to the New World. The people who were affected by smallpox had now carried the disease to these new lands. When they come into contact with the indigenous people of the land it spreads. Now, with the smallpox spread to the Native Americans, it starts to affect the Native populations. This is the cause of many Native American populations to be devastated and nearly eradicated. The transfer of smallpox over to the Native Americans was unintentional. The voyagers in turn would lose many allies and resources. It also starts a new home for the disease where it is able to weaken men and economy.
