Answer:

$2,880 unfavorable

Explanation:

A difference between the actual and estimated (budgeted) quantity of consumption of a product at standard rate

Formula for volume variance

Volume variance = (Actual quantity - budgeted Quantity) x Standard Rate

Budgeted Fixed overhead rate = $47,040 / $29,400 = $1.60 per direct labor hour

Budgeted Variable overhead rate = 355740/29400 = $12.10 per direct labor hour

Standard direct labor hour = ( 29,400 / 49,000) x 46,000 = 27600 direct labor hour

Fixed OH applied = 27,600 hours x $1.6 per direct labor hour = $44,160

Variable OH applied = 27,600 x $12.10 per direct labor hour = $333.960

Total overhead applied = $44,160 + $333,960 = $378,120

Budgeted Overhead = $47,040 + $333,960 = $381,000

Volume variance = Budgeted overhead - Total overhead applied

= 381,000 - $378,120 = $2,880 unfavorable

As actual production used more labor hours than estimated, so the volume variance is unfavorable.

Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

While in the restroom, you overhear your boss telling a colleague that Bob is going to be laid off at the end of the quarter in about two weeks’ time. Bob is a good friend of yours.Do you tell him? Why or why not?a.Response/Approach: UTILITARIANISMi.As a good friend you are, you could HIGHLY encourage Bob look for a newjob and infer that you heard that there are budget cuts going to be happening and “anyone” could be “laid off.”7.One of the newest salespeople in your division is a real goof-off, never showing up for work on time, distracting other people with his antics and so on. You complain about him to your boss, who tells you the kid is the son of the company president. Your boss instructs you not only to leave the new guy alone but also to make his sales numbers look good by throwing him some no-brainer accounts. What do you do?a.Response/Approach: INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITESi. As an employee of this company, you have the responsibility to report thisto a someone of higher status than just your boss. If your boss isn’t takingthe situation seriously, you need to stand up and tell higher authorities.ii.There is surely more people that are aware of this and if everyone aware backs you up, you can’t be fired or punished because then things would “become personal” and that can become a bigger issue that the presidentof the company is probably willing to deal with.

Which of the following correctly explains how banks began in Italy and England? a. Monarchs were the first bankers, lending out
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer:

Goldsmiths were the first bankers, and the paper receipts they issued for gold held on deposit became valued as money.

Explanation:

Italian goldsmiths were the first bankers in the world, even the name bank derives from the Italian "banca". Since they had safe vaults, they kept the gold savings from their rich clients, and they started to lend money to other people who needed it. They developed the fractional reserve system because they were able to actually lend more money than the amount of gold that they had in their vaults.

London goldsmiths followed a similar path and they added their own inventions, the check or "cheques" and money transfers.
