I would say,
Fellow countrymen
We gather here today to remember one of the greatest presidents our country has ever had and that man is Franklin D. Roosevelt. FDR transformed our beloved nation and gave us hope when there seemed to be none. We were lucky to have been led by a wise man  during the difficult times of the Great Depression as well as endure another World War.FDR gave us many reasons to be grateful for as Americans. Through his bravery and leadership, our country rose from low moments to prosperity. Thank you Mr. President for your sacrifice to the service of others.

Why did the people of Boston resent the British soldiers?
tankabanditka [31]
Before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, there were revolts and rebellions against the British all throughout Colonial America. The people of Boston likely resented the British for the same reasons that the war started, because of heavy tax and no representation in British government. There was also the Boston Massacre, where British soldiers opened fire on colonists and killed (I believe) 5, after people were throwing rocks at them. Boston was a major port city at the time, and I feel as though this may be relevant to your question also. Hope this helped!!
