Discuss how the scientific revolution and renaissance paved the way for a European exploration and colonization. In addition, id
Rashid [163]

Answer:

The Age of Exploration relied on the creation or improvement of many forms of technology. Cartography, or the making of maps, became more accurate during this time period, which guided navigators on their journeys. Ships, such as the caravel, were created that offered safer and more efficient passage. In addition, tools for navigation developed. For example, the astrolabe, first used by astronomers, was later adapted by mariners to use the angle of the sun to determine the latitude of one's location. The magnetic compass was also useful in determining a ship's path. Navigation required the development of better timepieces, such as hour glasses and, later, clocks, so sailors could determine the time of their shifts on deck. Scientific discoveries evolved as a result of the needs of explorers for more accurate maps, faster ships, better tools for navigation, and more accurate timepieces. These discoveries helped fuel the development of the Scientific Revolution.

Explain the negative impact of government subsidies for railroads (AP U.S. History)
madam [21]

The government gave subsidies for railroads companies with money from the people, these companies had land grants and received millions of acres of public land meanwhile some people did not have a place to live. The companies sold the land, made money from it and built their railroads. This also increased corruption in the government - historians say that members of the state legislature would deliberately introduce legislation threatening the interests of railroads in his state if the railroad's companies would not pay some sort of blackmail -.

Railroad companies would also use the power to destroy existing competitors in the field and prevented this way the emergence of new ones, for this they used the political connection.

Railroad companies would also create railroad projects with the only means to obtain government cash without any true commercial evaluations. They would pocket money and vanish without building anything.

Which statement explains what Manifest Destiny is?
amm1812

Answer:

3. Expands the U.S. from the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean

Explanation:

In the 1800s, many hoped for a better life farther west. Exciting images persuaded people to make the tough journey. The painting “American Progress” is one example. It supports the idea of Manifest Destiny, a phrase first written in 1845 by journalist John L. O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan believed that God wanted Americans to expand their nation to the Pacific Ocean. Manifest Destiny means Obvious Purpose.  Even though O'Sullivan wrote Manifest Destiny, the idea was already in existence.
