The primary concern of which artistic style was direct observation of society and nature, as well as political and social satire
Alecsey [184]
That would be Realism.
Realism is an era in art and literature which originated in the 19th century. Some of its characteristics include portraying real life as it is, observing nature and the world around us and depicting it faithfully, criticizing politics and the society in general (which is why satire was quite common during this era).

Recent soil test form Nick's farm showed that the soil has a pH value of 7.6, which means the soil is in nature. Adding to such
krok68 [10]

Answer:

Recent soil test form Nick’s farm showed that the soil has a pH value of 7.6, which means the soil is alkaline in nature. Adding sulphur to such type of soil can reduce its impact on plant growth.

Explanation:

A soil with a pH equal to 7.6 is an alkaline soil, that is, it is a soil with a basic pH. We can see this through the pH scale. This scale states that in a pH analysis, the system that presents a pH equal to 7 is a system with neutral pH. With pH below 7 the system becomes acidic and with pH above 7 the system becomes basic (alkaline).

Alkaline soils are not good for promoting good plant growth and for this reason these soils need to be acidified and have lower pH values. One way to do this is by adding sulfur to the soil, which will promote a concentration of hydrogen ions in the soil, increasing its acidity.

Why have many of the 27 current amendments are the result of legal disputes, social unrest, and constitutional conflicts
Lady_Fox [76]

The Twenty-Seventh Amendment to the United States Constitution is by far the longest any Constitutional Amendment has taken to be ratified by the states. Its initial proposal began in 1789, and it took over two hundred years to complete the ratification process, finally ending in 1992.

The 27th Amendment deals with the salary of the members of Congress. It prohibits any law from increasing or decreasing the salary from taking effect and being implemented until the next term of office for the House of Representatives. The 27th Amendment is the most recent Constitutional Amendment to have been ratified, occurring on May 5th, 1992. Its proposal was submitted on September 25th, 1789.

The 27th Amendment was created with the purpose of limiting the power of the members of Congress to pass laws that would affect pay increases in their salaries which would create an obvious conflict of interest. The restriction would be necessary in order for Congress to keep in mind the needs of the people of the United States rather than their own.

The 27th Amendment would require that any call for salary increases to be imposed were to occur after an election. This would prevent members of Congress from immediately causing a salary increase when elected into office. In other words, Representatives must survive the election process before a raise in salary can take effect.

The provisions held within the 27th Amendment were originally discussed in the North Carolina convention held in 1788, which was held for the purpose of discussing the Constitution itself. The 27th Amendment was originally drafted and proposed by James Madison, but it was not ratified by the necessary number of states. Only six states would approve ratification: Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Vermont, and Virginia; a total of ten was required for ratification. It was during this time that the first ten Constitutional Amendments were ratified, which would eventually become the United States Bill of Rights.

The 27th Amendment has a peculiar history because of the simple fact that it took hundreds of years to be ratified. The proposal for this Constitutional Amendment was considered to be discarded and invalid during most of the time between its initial proposal and final ratification. A student from the University of Texas, Gregory Watson, can be attributed with having reawakened and sparked life back into what would become the 27th Amendment.

In 1982, Watson would stumble upon the legislation and make it the topic of a research paper. He would eventually set out to devote his personal time and efforts to make the ratification of this Constitutional Amendment a reality. During this time, pay raises would become the focus of public debates and disputes that were instituted by State legislatures.

The concern would once again be turned to the salaries of Congress. States would begin to reconsider the Constitutional Amendment, but because its initial introduction some 200 years prior, many did not believe that the legislation would ever be ratified. However, by May 7th, 1992, Michigan would become the necessary thirty-eighth state to ratify the provision, thus making it the 27th Amendment.

How were the byzantine, islamic, and european economies similar? how did they differ? how did these economies interact?
pentagon [3]
Much of past civilizations have endured many failures and triumphs throughout their existence. In the third century, there were many civilizations that started to flourish. One of these civilizations that started to expand was the Byzantine civilization. The Byzantine civilization, also regarded as Byzantium, was part of the Roman Empire which was divided in 395 AD. Byzantium had shared the same attitude, as the Roman Empire, toward exercising its authority over its citizens and throughout its empire. The Islamic civilization had started thrive in the fifth century. The Islamic civilization was unified together as unison by Islam and it has expanded its civilization throughout parts of Europe through jihad. Because of their expansions …show more content…
Not only do both these civilizations share the same political system, but as well as the social structure, which is important for indicating the social organization in a civilization. The Byzantine Empire consisted with a society that included the upper class, middle class, and lower class. The upper class consisted of officials, members of government, and citizens who were wealthy. The middle class included merchants, and traders. The lower class consisted of slaves that were enslaved from the expansion of the Byzantine Empire. These slaves had the chance to worship God and be part of the community, but slavery for harsh punishment continued. The Islamic civilization had a similar social structure as the Byzantine Empire. The upper class was known as the Abbasids, they were known as judges, merchants, and government officials, and its citizens. The citizens lived in different conditions unlike Abbasids. Abbasids were privileged to be living courtyards and in temples. Slaves were common in Islamic culture, were given the right to believe in Allah and work as soldiers for the Islamic military. These classes indicate the similar features of society of both civilizations. In addition to political and social structure, both civilizations share the same economy. Byzantine and Islamic civilization use similar approaches to promote their economy. They have engaged in trading with other civilizations. Byzantine was a large exporter of grain and silk. Their
