Russell is 72 years old and is still working part-time as a professor. He has noticed some arm and hand shaking in the past year

, but assumed it must be related to low or high blood sugar levels because he has had some issues with that in the past. However, the shaking/twitching has become more consistent lately and does not seem to be correlated with his diet. Russell's doctor said that the stress of his job could be the problem, so he took the entire summer off from teaching.
When he returned to work in the fall, Russell and his students noticed that his handwriting has become nearly illegible. Drinking a cup of coffee without spilling had also become a challenge. Russell returned to his doctor, who performed a physical exam and a few tests. Here are the notable results: shuffling gait, mild bradykinesia, mild voice tremor, intermittent rigidity of the limbs, and normal EEG.
If Russell is having symptoms in his upper extremities, lower extremities, and his speech is slurred, which of the following body regions is most likely experiencing a pathology?

a. Brain and spinal cord
b. Cranial nerves
c. Peripheral nerves
d. Spinal nerves

Explain why Balcetis and her team came up with the slogan, "Keep your eyes on the prize."
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

Balcetis explains that when people are in shape, they are more likely to view an exercise as achievable. More important than fitness, however, was individuals’ motivation to exercise. Those who were motivated to exercise saw a finish line as closer, than those who were unmotivated.

In a second study, Balcetis experimented with how changing one’s perspective on an exercise, can help to make it seem more doable. Balcetis presented a finish line at the end of a moderate sized path. Her control group looked around their settings as they normally would, and then estimated how far away the finish line was. The experimental group was instructed to look directly at the finish line and to try to eliminate other objects in their point of view. The results: the group that kept their eyes on the prize estimated the finish line to be thirty percent closer than those in the control group.

Last, Balcetis examined how perspective can help directly improve ease and efficiency. She had subjects try a moderately difficult exercise of walking a fair distance with weights. Again, one group kept their eyes on the finish line, while the other group proceeded normally. Those who focused on the finish line, felt that the exercise was fifteen percent easier than those in the control group. The focused group also moved twenty-three percent faster.

So what do all these findings mean? The way we look at exercise can make a big difference in how hard it feels and how hard we work at it. As Balcetis says, “keeping your eyes on the prize, may be an additional strategy you can use to promote a healthy lifestyle.” Well any strategy that makes exercise seem easier and gets me working harder, is one I’m definitely down for.

A nurse is caring for an infant who is receiving IV therapy. Which assessment finding indicates fluid volume excess
Nookie1986 [14]

A nurse is caring for an infant who is receiving IV therapy. An elevated blood pressure and bounding pulses are finding indicates fluid volume excess.

what do you understand by fluid volume excess?

Hypervolemia is another name for fluid overflow. It occurs when your body has too much fluid. It can be brought on by a number of various illnesses, such as pregnancy, cirrhosis, heart failure, or renal failure.

Sodium retention by your kidneys leads to fluid volume excess. The fluid and salt balance in your body is controlled by your kidneys. The amount of sodium in the rest of your body rises when something makes your kidneys retain sodium. Your body produces too much fluid as a result of this.
