Why do you think Rachel did not speak up and advocate for herself?
MrRissso [65]

depending on the situation it could be an assortment of reasons ranging from her psychological status or even anxiety. from my perspective it could be an anxiety issue that she did not advocate for herself ,she probably had so many things running through her mind that she could catch up with what was being said ,which in result made her feel inferior and made her not not advocate for herself.

In "Exhalation," why had no other anatomist tried a brain dissection before the narrator's attempt?
Leni [432]
No other anatomist tried a brain dissection before the narrator's attempt because people's brains did not have any problems back then. When the computing power of the people's brains started slowing down, it was then that the scientist decided to dissect the brain to investigate the reason why this was happening.

How can analyzing inferences help us care about other people?
evablogger [386]

Answer:Making an inference involves using what you know to make a guess about what you don't know or reading between the lines. Readers who make inferences use the clues in the text along with their own experiences to help them figure out what is not directly said, making the text personal and memorable.

Read the following excerpt from Henry David Thoreaus resistance to civil government all machines have their friction witch state
MrRa [10]

Answer:

D. He uses metaphor to portray the government as something driven by greed and evil.

Explanation:

Option D is the correct answer.

Looking at the excerpt, we see that Thoreau actually uses metaphor. He likens the government as a machine. As all machines have their friction, there is need for some good in order to counterbalance the evil. The author sees that when the friction comes is likened to when oppression and robbery are set in and organized.

Metaphor is actually a figure speech that is used to compare two things. It is done without the use of "as" and "like".
