We know that

[Surface area ]=[the area of  4 triangles]+[the area of square base]

[the area of square base]=8*8--------> 64 ft²

[the area of 1 triangle]=(1/2)*b*h
b=8 ft
How the angle is 45°------->  h=b/2-------> h=4 ft

then
[the area of 1 triangle]=(1/2)*8*4------> 16 ft²
and
[the area of 4 triangles]=4*16--------> 64 ft²

[Surface area ]=[64 ft²]+[64 ft²]----------> 128 ft²

the answer is 128 ft²

The 13-foot string is arranged into a rectangle. Let L denote the length of the rectangle,
soldi70 [24.7K]

The expressions for the width, W, and area, A, of the rectangle in terms of L are:

  • W = \frac{13}{2} - L
  • A = \frac{13L - L^{2} }{2}

The expression for the perimeter of a rectangle is given as:

P = 2(L + W)

where L is its length and W its width

a. Given that the perimeter of the rectangle is 13 feet, then;

13 = 2(L + W)

divide through by 2

\frac{13}{2} = L + W

So that;

W = \frac{13}{2} - L

The required formula for the width as a function of L is: W = \frac{13}{2} - L

b. Area of a rectangle can be expressed as;

A = L * W

substitute the expression for width in that of area to have

A = L * ( \frac{13}{2} - L)

  = \frac{13}{2}L - L^{2}

A = \frac{13L - L^{2} }{2}

The expression for the area A is: A = \frac{13L - L^{2} }{2}

Paul [167]

Answer:

f(7) = -23

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = -3x - 2

f(7) = -3(7) - 2

f(7) = -21 - 2 = -23

today a boat valued at $45,000.Thebvalue is expected to decrease at a rate of 8.5% each year.What is the value of the boat expec
Stels [109]

Current value of the boat = $45000

Rate at which the value decrease = 8.5%

Value decreased after 1 year = \frac{8.5}{100}\times45000=3825

Hence, value becomes = 45000-3825=41175

Value decreased after 2nd year =

\frac{8.5}{100}\times41175=3499.875

Hence, value becomes = 41175-3499.875=37675.125

Value decreased after 3 year =

\frac{8.5}{100}\times37675.125=3202.385

Hence, value becomes = 37675.125-3202.385=34472.74

So, value of the boat after 3 years becomes $34472.74
