To get the answer to that, first let's convert the pint and quart into gallons so that it will be easier to answer. So for the pint, 1 pint is equal to 0.125 gallons. For the quart however, 1 quart is equal to 0.25 gallons. Next, we multiply 8 with 2.5 and 4.5 to get the total cost for each. 8 x 2.5 is 20 and 8 x 4.5 is 36. Obviously we know that know that the quart costs more than the pint but the quart has double what the pint has and the difference of the price is only 16 dollars. So I'd say the better deal is the quart

If f(x) = -0.5x + 2.5 what is f(x) = 0 and what is f(0) ?
Taya2010 [7]
A) To find x for f(x) = 0, substitute the given information and solve for x.
.. f(x) = 0 = -0.5x +2.5
.. 0.5x = 2.5 . . . . . . . . . . add 0.5x
.. x = 2.5/0.5 = 5 . . . . . . divide by the coefficient of x

f(5) = -0.5*5 +2.5 = 0

b) f(0) = -0.5*0 +2.5 = 2.5

Keith is trying to figure out the area of his pool section in his backyard he knows that his pool is 20 feet long and 9 feet wid
Nata [24]

Answer:

The total area of the pool section of Keith's backyard is 390 square feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since Keith is trying to figure out the area of his pool section in his backyard, and he knows that his pool is 20 feet long and 9 feet wide, and he also knows the sidewalk is 3 feet wide all around the floor, to determine what is the total area of the pool section of Keith's backyard, the following calculation must be performed:

(20 + 3 + 3) x (9 + 3 + 3) = X

26 x 15 = X

390 = X

Therefore, the total area of the pool section of Keith's backyard is 390 square feet.

Chocolate chip cookies call for 3 1/4 cups of sugar for 2 1/2 batches. To make 1 1/4 batches of peanut butter cookies you need 1
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

=<u>peanut butter cookie batches require more sugar</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

chocolate chip cookies:

3 1/4 /  2 1/2

<u>7 </u> / <u>5</u>  = <u> 7 </u> x <u> 2 </u> = <u> 7 cups</u>

4     2     4      5     10

peanut butter cookies:

1 1/4  /  1 3/4

<u>5</u> / <u>7</u>  =  <u>5</u> / <u>4</u>   = <u> 5 cups</u>

4   4      4   7        7

compare cups

<u> 7 </u> , <u> 5 </u> =  <u>  49 ,  50   </u>

10     7          70

=<u>50</u>  =  <u>5</u>  =  peanut butter cookie batches require more sugar

Mr. Walker gave his class the function f(x) = (x + 3)(x + 5). Four students made a claim about the function. Each student’s clai
Scrat [10]

the only student that is correct is Stepheh. "The vertex is at (–4, –1)."

<h3>Which claims are true?</h3>

Here we have the quadratic equation:

f(x) = (x + 3)*(x + 5)

The first claim is: "The y-intercept is at (15, 0)."

This is clearly false, as the y-intercept is at x = 0, and in that point we have x = 15.

The second claim is:

"The x-intercepts are at (–3, 0) and (5, 0)"

This is false, in the factored equation we can see that the x-intercepts are x =-3 and x = -5.

Third claim:

"The vertex is at (-4, -1)"

The middle value between the zeros is:

(-3 + (-5))/2 = -4

Evaluating the function in x = -4 we get the y-value of the vertex:

f(-4) = (-4 + 3)*(-4 + 5) = -1*1 = -1

So the vertex is at (-4, -1), this claim is true.

The fourth claim is:

"The midpoint between the x-intercepts is at (4, 0)."

Which is false, we already saw that the midpoint between the x-intercepts is at x = -4

Then the only student that is correct is Stepheh. "The vertex is at (–4, –1)."
