Botticelli's Birth of Venus represents a break from medieval traditions because it stands for the new turn. This painting depicts the goddess Venus arriving at the shore after her birth, when she had emerged from the sea fully-grown. Which could mean through out the years the medieval age raged on it was a rebirth towards a new life, you could say a fresh start. In the art its self it shows the new way of art, a more realistic turn. Through this time they are breaking free from churches and focusing on humanity. In the medieval time, they created are through god. and made it unrealistic. So this shows a rebirth and a new start. This goddess was waking towards land with other gods around her as she is upon the seashell.
Well I hope that helped. Have a wonderful day
