1.) Oliver Cromwell came from a wealthy background. After he attended Cambridge University, he served his country in two ways. One was becoming a member of Parliament and as a spokesperson for religious freedom. (2) As a member of Parliament, Oliver spoke out. In 1640, he spoke out against King Charles, voicing disagreement with the king's policies. (3) A decisive leader, Cromwell, became successful in military circles as well as political circles.
