Inversion of DNA sequences within chromosomes is a common process in evolution. The following gene arrangements in a particular

chromosome are found in four different species. 1st sequence STUVWX 2nd sequence SVWXTU 3rd sequence STXWVU 4th sequence XWVSTU Assuming that the arrangement in 1 is the original arrangement, in what evolutionary order did the four species arise, such that there is only one inversion between each species. (Place sequence 1in first of your ordering.) Next to each sequence, select, from the drop down menu, the order in which each inversion arose.

Answer:

1-->3-->2-->4

Explanation:

If the original arrangement is the one in the first sequence, and between species only one inversion happened, then the evolutionary order can be the following one:

(I underlined the chromosome regions that become inverted to give rise to the next species)

1st sequence STUVWX

3rd sequence STXWVU

2nd sequence SVWXTU

4th sequence XWVSTU

This is because Pangaea explains that once there was one huge country that expanded across the whole world, but it split apart and animals that were once next to each other were drifting apart to other parts of the world where both would survive on both sides.

How can treatments for sickle cell anemia be administered
NemiM [27]

Answer and Explanation:

Sickle cell anemia is a disease of humans which is inherited in an incomplete dominance way. The disease is transmitted through a recessive gene that leads to the synthesis of abnormal haemoglobin. The disease treatment can be administered through gene therapy which is the replacement of faulty genes with normal ones aimed at correcting genetic disorders. Bone marrow transplant can also be done to replace the defect cells that produce sickle celled red blood cells.
