Pros - we get better sound quality for music, it brings the works back to the light
Cons - using another artists work, sometimes it’s too different from the original, no credit may be given

Answer:

Pros of modern authors, songwriters, and poets borrowing older works to create modern versions are bringing fame back to that older piece of work, changing a piece so fit modern times which can give a more societal connection between the older and modern eras. Cons may be the work not being as original so an author may receive backlash and the modern author has to focus on changing the older version in a way that both attracts a new audience along with please the audience who still enjoys the original version of the piece.
