Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

A. A trip to the ocean can be a relaxing escape from the everyday pressures of life.

B. You should always be careful to avoid overexposure to the sun at the beach.

Explanation:

A. Topic Sentence:

A topic sentence gives the idea of what the paragraph is about. This paragraph tells about  how the senses are relaxed near or around the beach or sea or water area. So the first sentence summarizes this idea that a trip to the ocean can be a relaxing escape from the everyday pressures of life.

B. Not topic sentence.

Any sentence which is not  related to the topic or does not have any element of the topic is a not topic sentence. In this paragraph the not topic sentence is You should always be careful to avoid overexposure to the sun at the beach. This sentence has no element of relaxation near or around the ocean . Instead it is an instruction that we should be careful while sunbathing.

docker41 [41]

In the story, a family of white people is worried about security. Riots occur in the city, in "coloured neighbourhoods", even black maids have been attacked by thieves . So, the mother and son notice that some neighbours have placed a series of jagged metal wires on top of the gate and they decide to do the same.

One night, the mother tells her son a bedtime story about a prince who climbs through a bush of thorns to bring Sleeping Beauty back to life. The next day, the boy recognizes the jagged swire on the wall as representative of his own bush, and he attempts to climb them in an attempt to duplicate what the prince did. The boy becomes tangled in the metal coil, cut and stabbed and torn . As he struggles and screams in agonizing pain, he becomes further trapped in the metal wire and he finally dies.
