Answer: d. free verse

Explanation: Poetry that is written without any formal rhythmic structure or rhyme scheme is called free verse. Free verse is a literary device that is free from rhythmic limitations and does not have a fixed rhyme scheme. It follows normal speaking pauses and the poet can shape the poem in the way he likes. Which features distinguish elizabethan drama from earlier forms of theater?
katovenus [111]

The features which distinguishes Elizabethan drama from earlier forms of theatre are as follows-

 • A new focus on secular, rather than religious, themes;

 • Performances in theaters by professional actors;

 • Exploration of human experience, as well as politics and philosophy.

It is so because, unlike the earlier form of theatre Elizabethan drama wasn't focusing upon religious stories and themes, in fact it was making secular themes which were getting popularized. However, within the beginning of this era only secular theme, topics, philosophy were started getting discussed.

In the beginning of Elizabethan drama, many actors formed this as a profession with their sweat and blood (hard work), such as, William Alabaster, Edward Alleyn and Robert Armin, among others, unlike the earlier dramas where anyone could perform in a play.
