Answer:

Eventually, the Romans using the umbrella to protect themselves from the rain as well as the sun is correct.

Explanation:

The passage is about the evolution of the umbrella as well as the origin of the name (latin word umbra.) In sentences 10 and 11, the author presents two different uses for the umbrella. All the options use the conjunction as well to indicate these actions. This conjunction can be at the end of the sentence or in the middle to indicate in addition. In the correct answer, it is indicated one use (protect from the rain) and a second one (protect from the sun). In options 2 and 3, there is a coma after sun, and then, a noun (the Romans or the umbrella) but the position in the sentence makes them incorrect.

The thousands the poet mentions in stanza V most likely refers to
soldier1979 [14.2K]

The thousands the poet mentions in stanza V most likely refers to:

 • The slaves who died during the journeys

Who were the thousands referred to in the poem?

The thousands that the poet most likely refers to are the slaves who could not make it to America and other countries where they were to be captive. The poem is "An Address to Miss Phillis Wheatley" which was written by Jupiter Hammon.

Since Wheatley was among the slaves captured, then we can say that the thousands referred to the many who died during the journeys. The poet wants those who are alive to be appreciative.

Which of the following inferences about the Capitol is best supported by the text?
vodka [1.7K]
I would definitely say that the answer is C.
I don’t think that they would end the Games if it weren’t for Katniss, they created the districts so that definitely isn’t fair especially if you compare district 1 to district 12, and Katniss states that they advertise footage from The Dark Days in order to keep fear within the districts.
C is the most likely answer.
