First, find out the value of x to confirm if they are really true.

We know that all the interior angles of a triangle equal to 180 degrees.

4x+5x-8+3x+20=180
12x=180-12
12x=168
x=168/12
x=14

Put in these values of to find if AB=AC.

(4×14)(3×14+20)=(4×14)(5×14-8)

Solve for LHS first,

(4×14)(3×14+20) = 56×62

=3472

Solve for RHS next,

(4×14)(5×14-8) = 56×62

=3472

Since LHS=RHS, AB is also equal to AC.

Hope I helped :)

What is the height of a projectile in 4 seconds if its initial height is 125 ft and it has a velocity of 300 ft per second? 972
andre [41]

Answer:

B. 1069 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

d=v_ot+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2 \\\\d=(300)(4)+\dfrac{1}{2}(-32)(4)^2 \\\\d=1200-256=944

Adding the initial 125 feet to this, you get a total height of 1069 feet. Hope this helps!

Point B(6, -3) is translated using the rule (x -5 y + 9) what is the y coordinate of B'
Andrej [43]

This rule shows how we transition the x-coordinate and y-coordinate when finding B'.

In this rule, it shows us what to add/subtract from the x-value and y-value in the coordinate. We can see that it wants us to subtract 5 from the x-value (based on the "x - 5") and that it wants us to add 9 to the y-value (based on the "y + 9"). Based on this information, we can find B':

\textrm{B}'(6 - 5, -3 + 9)

\boxed{\textrm{B}\,'(1, 6)}

The "y-coordinate" of B' is 6.
