What is a union of independent sovereign states? a federation a unitary government a constitutional government a confederation a
ExtremeBDS [4]
A Confederation. Despite the actual grouping of states into one "unit", the idea of a confederacy is to let the states essentially rule for themselves.Sovereign simply means self-ruling which is what each state would follow under union beliefs. There is no established law of the land for any unions as it would defeat the purpose.

What was the main responsibility of a magistrate in the Roman republic?
zavuch27 [327]

The magistrates were responsible for taking care of the finances and judicial obligations throughout the Roman Republic.

But honestly, some magistrates were even responsible for entertainment - for those within Rome, such as festivals and games for those to enjoy (think of it as the magistrates being the party hosts and the bankers).
