Consider what you have learned about Beat poetry. Write a poem that is at least eight lines long and is in the Beat style. Refer

back to the Beat poems you read in this lesson for examples. Your poem should have a clear subject and theme and use such Beat styles as free form and irreverence. Your poem should also address an important societal issue, such as poverty or inequality. To improve your poem, try brainstorming, drafting, and revising your poem multiple times.

Answer:

Ode to capitalism

The most polite ones that excuse me

But the weak, please disappear

And succumb to the power of capital

May the great ones grow even more

And that encourage competition, dishonesty and intolerance

I'm not interested in the hungry

the homeless and barefoot

If I am guaranteed abundance and abundance.

Explanation:

The poem above was made in eight verses and was inspired by the poetry presented by the beat generation.

The poem makes an ode to capitalism and evokes irresponsibility of this system with the most needy who are exploited in favor of those who are in a situation of advantage and privilege within our society and who basically do not care about anything as long as their sovereignty is guaranteed.

babunello [35]

Answer:

Not completely sure so do your research but I believe that its D. The correct answer is D.

Explanation: This excerpt from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "Paul Revere's Ride"  introduces the character of Paul Revere and, most importantly, the mission he carried out.

In this passage, the author explains in the form of a poem, the actions that were taken by Paul Revere. It explains how Revere indicated his friends to hang lanterns in the North Church tower if the British started marching towards their territory. Then, if Revere saw the signal, he would ride to spread the alarm through Middlesex so that the villagers would be ready to defend themselves.
