Captivity narratives are pieces of captives of war prisoned by the enemies who have different views in religious or cultural beliefs. The most recognized ones are the Puritans where they view Indians as the devils while they alike their Gods like them. These narratives give light to the establishment of different religious basis.

Also,after WWII,the European Nations were greatly damaged,as the war destryoed infrastructures and killed civilians,they faced the problems such as lack of labour,unemployment and hyperinflation. The nations were busy to settle the unrest and recovery within the nation and could not spare resources to maintain their colonies
