Writing requires a lot of attention and knowledge, not only of grammar, but also of the coherence of the sentences within a text and the structure that these sentences form, being able to transmit an understandable message to the reader. Effective and efficient writing should refrain from Run-on sentences that leave writing completely without coherence and cohesion because it does not link one sentence to another in a fluid and correct way, leaving the text disorganized and making the reading uncomfortable and inconclusive. Efficient writing must also refrain from fragments sentences that are incomplete sentences, which do not have the capacity to conclude a thought and transmit a tangible message to the reader.

How does Harper lee create dramatic tension in the court room
ivann1987 [24]
The mood and atmosphere to the trial is really built up over many chapters. Before the trial every begins we see the bigotry of the town as well as the humanity in a small handful of characters. So, when the trail finally takes place the mood and atmosphere is tense with a touch of somber resignation. I say this because deep down the reader, like Atticus, knows that the trial will not go well. The jury is made up of a bunch of older white men who cannot see past their set ways. The court is full of people, “We knew there was a crowd, but we had not bargained for the multitudes in the first floor hallway”. The blacks and the whites are segregated and Scout and Jem get to sit in the black section. Lee sets the symbolism and the tone for the trial perfectly.

Captain Canot describes treatment of slaves in what way? . What evidence does he use? How does he present his information?
scoray [572]

Sadly, Captain Canot didn't believe that the treatment of slaves was a problem. Like most people in his time, it was common to think of slaves as only sub-humans. To Captain Canot he was just carrying regular old cargo that just so happened to be alive and breathing.

Captain Canot was a person who captured slaves to make them work for him, he gave them little privileges and had zero qualms about it.

(I wasn't able to get access to any text for a clearcut example, but essentially you're supposed to find an example in whatever text you are reading to support that he was completely ok with slavery. Like, in what ways did he explicitly imply that slavery is a good thing, or what actions and feelings do he have towards it being a thing? And then explain it.)
