On the contrary, Wheeler uses long descriptive sentences with bad grammar, and full of dialect. Even though he is serious there is an overall humoros effect. " ...if I asked old Wheeler  about him,... he would... bore me nearly to  death with some infernal reminiscence of him as long and tedious as it should be useless to me."
