When agriculture became a new resource, people settled down and formed new ways of money or achieved lots of wealth, land, or resources by farming. They became quite rich with all of the goods from farming. With all of this money or goods, they bought or traded for wives. They could have multiple wives and people really didn't care about it in those times. Men back then had tens of hundreds of wives at the time because of the wealth and resources that were brought from the dawn of agriculture.
