Why is homework so important? No one likes doing homework, the idea of having work to do after school, seems like a real dread. To many it is, some even chose not to do it. The reality is, it can be very beneficial to your learning experience. Usually when you learn something it takes a while to commit it to memory, and even then it's hard. This is where homework comes in, doing a little extra work after just learning it can help you commit it to memory. It also teaches a student responsibility, and gives the ability to work independently. When working on something alone you tend to realize, and focus on the parts you struggle with. Homework encourages students to take initiative and responsibility for completing a task. Homework allows parents to have an active role in their child's education and helps them to evaluate their child's progress.
