You'll do the (whole)(outside)= (whole)(outside) so, set it up like this: (5+3)3= (x+4)4now work it out with PEMDAS: 15+9=4x+16combine like terms: 24= 4x+16subtract the 16 from each side: 8=4xlastly, divide by 4 on each side to get x=2

got this from someone who answered this for me

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given table,

A. The unit rate for each car is,

Car A = \frac{416}{13}

          = 32 miles per gallon

Car B = \frac{544}{16}

          = 34 miles per gallon

Car C = \frac{665}{19}

          = 35 miles per gallon

Car D = \frac{775}{25}

          = 31 miles per gallon

B. From the derived values in A, the car that uses the least amount of gas is Car C.

C. Total distance covered = 496 miles x 4

                                           = 1984 miles

The gallons of gas the Car A would need for the journey can be determined by;

Car A requires 1 gallon for 32 miles

So that for 1984 miles = \frac{1984}{32}

                                    = 62 gallons

Car A would need 62 gallons of gas to make the trip.

D. Amount spent on gas for Car A = $2.12 x 62

                                          = $131.44

E. speed = \frac{distance}{time}

⇒ time = \frac{distance}{speed}

Given the for Car A, speed = 68 miles per hour.

time = \frac{1984}{68}

       = 29.1765

time = 29 hours

It would take approximately 29 hours for Car A to cover the total distance of 1984 miles.

Write the equation with...<br><br> point: (9,0) <br> point: (-7,-4)
Vlad [161]
Easy
the equation of a line that passes through the point (x1,y1) and has a slope of m is
y-y1=m(x-x1)

find slope
slope between (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
given
(9,0) and (-7,-4)
slope=(-4-0)/(-7-9)=-4/-16=1/4
slope os 1/4
a point is (9,0)
x1=9
y1=0
y-0=1/4(x-9)
we can put it into slope intercept and standard form
slope intercept
y=(1/4)x-(9/4)
standard
minus 1/4x
-1/4x+y=-9/4
times -4
x-4y=9

Quadratic equations that can be solved using the quadratic formula can also be solved by factoring. ...?
valina [46]
I believe the correct answer is false. Quadratic equations that can be solved using the quadratic formula cannot always be solved by factoring. <span>Not </span>all quadratic equations can<span> be </span>solved by factoring<span>. Another method that can be used is completing the square. Hope this answers the question.</span>
