I agree with the other poster. This response is to show why the answer is C.

The base is 12 inches. This is the horizontal component running parallel to the flat ground. The height is 3 inches which is perpendicular to the base, i.e. the two segments make a 90 degree angle. The height is completely vertical.

The area is then...

area = base*height
area = 12*3
area = 36

Therefore the final answer is choice C) 36

What is the equation of this line in slope-intercept form (-1,5) and (1,-3)?
Harrizon [31]
Slope intercept means
y=mx+c
the slope of the line is m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(-3-5)/(1+1)= -4
the equation of the line is
y-5 = -4(x+1)
4x+y-1=0
changing the equation into slope intercept form
y= -4x+1

∠1 and ∠2 are complementary angles. m∠1 is 5y+32 and m∠2 is 7y-14. Find m∠2 & show your work.
Ainat [17]
  • m<1+m<2=90

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5y+32+7y-14=90

\\ \sf\longmapsto 12y+18=90

\\ \sf\longmapsto 12y=72

\\ \sf\longmapsto y=6

  • m<2=7(6)-14=42-14=28[/tex]

10 watermelons have an average weight of 4.3 pounds and 5 pumpkins have an average weight of 3.4 pounds. What is the average wei
bagirrra123 [75]
Since the average is the sum divided by the count, the sum is the average times the count.

So the sum of the weights of the watermelons is 10(4.3)=43 pounds.

The sum of the weights of the pumpkins are 5(3.4)=17 pounds

The sum of the weight of the fruits is 43+17=60 pounds

Dividing by 15 fruits gives an average item weight of 60/15 = 4 pounds
