The diagram shows the amount of phosphorus measured in teragrams (1 teragram = 1×10^12) grams), in the various reservoirs of the

phosphorus cycle. Which of the following is the best explanation for why there is such a small amount of phosphorus that moves into aquatic systems?1. Phosphorus is highly stable in the atmosphere and remains there for long periods of time.2. The amount of phosphorus in the cycle has been greatly reduced because of the use of catalytic converters in automobiles.3. There is not a gaseous phase of the phosphorus cycle, and therefore the movement of phosphorus into oceanic reservoirs is very slow.4. The phosphorus cycle occurs so rapidly that it does not exist in any one reservoir for a very long time.

Answer:

This is the best explanation for why there is such a small amount of phosphorus that moves into aquatic systems:

1. Phosphorus is highly stable in the atmosphere and remains there for long periods of time.

Explanation:

The phosphorus first cycle is the process by which the phosphate ion passes in very small amounts through the lithosphere from volcanic aeorosols, then to the hydrosphere, where it stays from 20,000 to 100,000 years in the ocean, and finally to biospherere, where rain and erosion helps washing the phosphorus from the rocks into the soil. So, raining is the beginning of the phosphorus´s second cycle, so it is also, the slowest one of the matter cycles that is why the natural total background phosphate levels in several bodies of freshwater range from 0.005 to 0.05 mg/L. Phosphorus remains mostly on land and in rock and soil minerals.

Although abundant on our planet´s sedimentary rock crust and in human body, phosphorus to commercialize is only found in minerals therefore, phosphates mining activity and calcium heating is the only way to get it in its pure elemental form. It is an essential nutrient for plants and animals and a big percentage of the mined phosphorus is used to make fertilizers.

What causes the shaking that is associated with earthquakes?
topjm [15]

Answer:

The tectonic plates are always slowly moving, but they get stuck at their edges due to friction. When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction, there is an earthquake that releases energy in waves that travel through the earth's crust and cause the shaking that we feel.

Infer an advantage of using passive or active solar systems.
Kryger [21]

The advantage of using passive or active solar systems was these systems release low amounts of carbon dioxide or other pollutants. Thus, Option C is the correct statement.

What is the benefit of using Passive or active solar systems?

One of the best reasons to use effective solar technology is to reduce your energy bills. Active solar systems can include expensive hardware, and Passive solar systems may create the cost of renovating your home, but a reduction in your utility bills will ultimately outweigh the costs.

Thus, Option C is the correct statement.
