What pulled the Greek city-states apart?
ankoles [38]
Although the Greek city states all spoke the same language and worshipped the same gods, each polis had their own government systems and values. Athens and Sparta, in particular had opposing values; Athens had a democracy, Sparta had a monarchy, where Athenians prized new ideas, the Spartans stubbornly clung on to the traditional etc. Partially due to Pericles taking advantage of the Delian League to benefit Athens, other city states began to resent Athens and eventually the Greek city states sided with either Sparta or Athens in the Peloponnesian War.

What was one idea of the English philosopher John Locke that greatly influenced the development of self-government in the Americ
Kipish [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B. "Citizens have a right to revolt and replace an existing government that becomes oppressive".

Explanation:

John Locke was a 17th century Englishman who serves as an inspiration for the founding of the United States. The idea of John Locke that most influenced the development of self-government in the American colonies was that citizens have a right to revolt and replace an existing government that becomes oppressive. John Locke believed that all governments must provide the natural rights of the citizens, which are: life, liberty, and property. Since American colonies not had liberty or property, they had the right to revolt and replace their existing government.

One of the main thoughts was that it would have been best to place Germany under extreme economic pressure, which would have damaged the country more than if the Allies waged full-scale war against them. This was one of the major areas of disagreement because Clemenceau was wishing for these economic pressures, while Wilson wanted a more "peaceful" solution and George wanted punishments that would still allow Germany to thrive in the future and be able to help the rest of the European continent.

Explain the coming of the First World War. What was the war really about? Why did virtually all the European Powers become invol
givi [52]

Simplified in the best way possible:

World War 1 started when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot and killed by a Serbian man. As of a result, Austria demanded territory (taking advantage of the fact that the killer was Serbian). Austria declared war on Serbia. Serbia was in an agreement with Russia which led to war. Germany declared war on Russia for declaring war on Austria. Germany knew that France was allied to Russia, so Wilhem II declared war on France (it was going to happen anyways.) Britain later declared war on Germany after they had declined an ultimatum. During the war, UU Boats attacked British boats, and tried to starve them. While attacking British boats, they had accidentally attacked an American steamboat. This had caused tension. Germany agreed not to do it again. A few years later, they had started attacking American boats, thinking that the Americans were supplying the British. Tension grew again, which led Germany to send a telegraph to Mexico asking them to attack the United States, promising them their old lands. Since Mexico was at a civil war at the time, their generals told their leader not to attack the United States, and side with them. Mexico did exactly that, and had informed the United States. The people's will to fight in the United States grew, as mobilization started. In 1917, the United States declared war on Germany and sent thousands of troops to France almost every week.

Serbia was to blame as a part of their military known as the black hand secret society had trained soldiers to kill Ferdinand and split Austria's provinces so Serbia can form Yugoslavia. The head of the black hand secret society was the chief of the Serbian military intelligence.
