Answer is 4+5i

The reason is that if you have a zero that is imaginary number, than its conjugate value is also a zero of that function. Conjugate value of imaginary number you get simply when changing sign of imaginary part of imaginary number to opposite. in this case imaginary part is -5i so its conjugate value is +5i..

If a(x)=3x+1 and b(x)=square root x-4, what is the domain of (b o a)(x)?
Bond [772]

ANSWER

[1, \infty ]

EXPLANATION

The given functions are:

a(x) = 3x + 1

b(x) =  \sqrt{x - 4}

We want to find the domain of the composite function;

(b \circ \: a)(x) = b(a(x))

(b \circ \: a)(x)  = b(3x + 1)

(b \circ \: a)(x) =  \sqrt{3x + 1 - 4}

This simplifies to,

(b \circ \: a)(x) =  \sqrt{3x  - 3}

This function is defined for

3x - 3 \geqslant 0

3x \geqslant 3

x \geqslant 1

This can be rewritten as,

[1, \infty ]

Lexie scores an average of 527 points in a pinball game, and her points in a pinball game are normally distributed. Suppose Lexi
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:  28 points

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Lexie scores an average of \mu=527  points in a pinball game, and her points in a pinball game are normally distributed.

Let x be the random variable that represents the  her points in a pinball game.

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{s}, where s is the standard deviation.

Lexie scores 471 points in a game, and this value has a z-score of −2.

i.e. -2=\dfrac{471-527}{s}

-2s=-56\\\\\Rightarrow\ s=\dfrac{56}{2}=28

Hence, the standard deviation= 28 points

What is the slope of the line from point (-4,2) to (-2,2)?
Alex787 [66]

The formula of a slope:

m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We have the points (-4, 2) and (-2, 2). Substitute:

m=\dfrac{2-2}{-2-(-4)}=\dfrac{0}{-2+4}=0

<h3>Answer: The slope is equal 0   (it's a horizontal line y = 2).</h3>
