The correct answer is A. They are destructive to native species and have no natural predators

Explanation:

In ecosystems, a species is considered as invasive when the species is non-native and represents a threat to other organisms and for the natural balance in an ecosystem. In the case of Cane toads, this species of toads are native to America. But was introduced in several islands of the Caribbean and the Pacific including Australia because it was used to control pests in sugarcane crops (hence its name). However, it has become an invasive species because it has led to the decrease in the population of some native species, also this species population has grown with no control because they do not have direct predators. This means cane toads are invasive species because "They are destructive to native species and have no natural predators".

How does the mantle interact with the crust at a subduction zone?
Veronika [31]

The correct answer is - C. A plate is pulled under another plate and melts into the mantle.

The subduction zones appear on the plate boundaries between an oceanic plate and continental plate. The heavier and lower oceanic plate moves under the lighter and higher continental plate, thus subducting bellow it. As the plate is subducting, it reaches the mantle layer, its upper part, and because of the very high temperatures and high pressures, the plate that is subducting starts to melt. As the crust is melting, it is becoming a part of the mantle, thus becoming magma, which eventually may rise on the surface on another place on the planet and create new crust. This is often referred to as recycling of the plates.
