How did people live on the Prairie

During westward expansion, people made sod houses on the prairie. They planted wheat and plants. Sometimes they used plows and donkeys, or else they had to do it by hand. Herding cattle was another form. People who made sod houses and were farmer had to make sure they had barbed wire around their farms.
