The correct answer is - D. Phoenician sailors traded with other cities in the Mediterranean.

The Phoenicians were people that had advanced civilization. and they were people that loved to sail, in fact that is their trademark, the sailing and trading. Unlike most of the other civilizations that were based on the mainland, the Phoenicians were spending more time on their ships, they traded all over the Mediterranean with multiple other civilizations, and made multiple colonies on the coasts of the Mediterranean as well. Because they were more advanced than the people that they were in constant contact with, they managed to spread out their culture in a peaceful manner, and the people from the Mediterranean region were very fond of accepting it.

Which of the following was a consequence of the Iran Hostage Crisis?
Svetllana [295]

The most notable consequence of the Iranian hostage crisis was the voluntary withdrawal of the United States from its intervention in the Middle East.

What was the Iranian Hostage Crisis?

The Iran hostage crisis is an event that occurred in the city of Tehran, Iran on November 4, 1979 when a group of Iranian students took 66 United States diplomats and citizens hostage for a total of 444 days.

What was the result of this crisis?

The end of this crisis was the acceptance by the United States of a series of conditions imposed by the Iranian kidnappers. The requirements were:

 • The US should bear the financial and economic responsibilities arising from the actions of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
 • Return of the Shah's funds.
 • Cancellation of lawsuits against Iran.
 • Unfreezing of huge Iranian funds in US banks.
 • Promise not to intervene in Iranian internal affairs.

According to the above, the United States headed by Ronald Reagan had no choice but to accept these requests and stop its intervention in the Middle East.

What did the ottomans do with the different cultural elements in the lands they conquered?
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

Ottoman culture evolved over several centuries as the ruling administration of the Turks absorbed, adapted and modified the various native cultures of conquered lands and their peoples. There was a strong influence from the customs and languages of Islamic societies, notably Arabic, while Persian culture had a significant contribution through the heavily Persianized Seljuq Turks, the Ottomans' predecessors. Despite newer added amalgamations, the Ottoman dynasty, like their predecessors in the Sultanate of Rum and the Seljuk Empire, were thoroughly Persianised in their culture, language, habits and customs, and therefore, the empire has been described as a Persianate empire."[2][3][4][5] Throughout its history, the Ottoman Empire had substantial subject populations of Orthodox subjects, Armenians, Jews and Assyrians, who were allowed a certain amount of autonomy under the confessional millet system of Ottoman government, and whose distinctive cultures enriched that of the Ottoman state.
