The Royal Christmas Message is a big part of Christmas for many Brits. How many monarchs have broadcast it to date?

History

Three.

The tradition began with the current Queen's grandfather, King George V, in 1932.

When he died, his eldest son, King Edward VIII, did not deliver a Christmas message due to his abdication of the throne.

Edward's younger brother, King George VI, resumed the practice (albeit sporadically at first).

After George's death, his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, who is the current Queen of England, continued the tradition set by her father.

So in total, that gives us three monarchs who have delivered a Royal Christmas Message:
1) George V
2) George VI
3) Elizabeth II

How did the print and transportation revolutions transform colonial culture and economy in the eighteenth century
Viefleur [7K]
<span>Once printing began, colonists were able to learn information at a faster rate. Printers thrived economically, being able to read became more important, and currency circulated more. Transportation innovations opened up tremendous opportunities for commerce within the colonies. Food could be better imported and exported, marketplaces became more common, and colonists found new and faster ways to engage in social activities.</span>

Is thomas paine trustworthy as a reporter of historical events? Explain.
bagirrra123 [75]

<span>No. Thomas Paine is known for two major terms: criticism and passion. His fame rose because he was a very passionate advocate of anti-slavery, world peace, and social security for the elderly and the poor. However, later in life he became anti-church which made him so unpopular. All these attributes of Paine made him obviously partisan. He could not be considered objective or neutral; thus, his rendition of historical events may be tainted by his political leaning and convictions.</span>
