His physical condition <u>causes the loss of his job.</u> The Metamorphosis is a story about a character who finds himself waking up and transformed into an insect. Gregor is the main character of the story, he was a salesman that provides for his sister and parents. Upon his transformation, he founds himself bound and confined to his room throughout the remainder of the story.
