Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of rows = 2

Squares in each row = b

So, the total number of  squares in 2 rows = 2 x ( Squares in 1 row ) = 2 x  b

Also, side length of 1 square = b cm

As we know, AREA OF SQUARE  = SIDE x SIDE

So here, area of 1 square  = Side x side  = b cm  x b cm = (b^2) cm^2

⇒ The area of total (2b) squares  = 2 b x ( Area of  1 square)

= 2 b \times (b^2)  = 2 b^3

Hence, the complete area of the given figure is (2 b^3) cm^2
